How Do I Know If My Dog Is Overweight?

fatdog2How often do you feed your pet? If you think your dog is overweight, it is a question you should ask yourself.

Many pets are overweight because owners don’t monitor their pets’ weight and always want to please them, everytime they beg for food.

Obesity is an issue that may contribute to health problems like diabetes, arthritis or cancer. You can feel if its ribs and folds are easily seen. If not, it can be overweight.

Try not to overfeed your pet and make sure it receives exercise regularly.

You don’t need to do a drastic reduction of its food, only  a moderate reduction is recommended. Treats are high in fat and calories, try to eliminate it from its diet.

Visit a veterinarian to decide if your dog needs to start a diet.
