Adoption Choices: How to Choose a Dog
One of the first things to consider when choosing a dog is whether you want an adorable puppy or you whether to adopt an older dog.
There is nothing cuter than a puppy. They are a lot of fun, they will ensure many years of laughter and love in your family.
On the other hand, you must consider your available time as well. If you and your family work full time, the kids are in school full time and nobody is at home during the day, a puppy is not a good choice.
Puppies require a great deal of time to learn everything they have to learn. They need to learn how to behave correctly. Patience and love in our hearts is required to bring a puppy home and do a good job raising it.
It is a huge responsibility to have a pet. It is important for your family that you select the right dog, but equally important to the pet because it is a lifetime commitment. You should do it properly, with knowledge, so you can choose the right age dog. So, if you are not home all day, perhaps would be wiser if you choose an older dog that won’t require quite as much time in training.
Good luck!
