International Day of the Dog: Rescue Dogs
The International Day of the Dog is going to be celebrated on Sunday, April 26.
It was first initiated on April 30, 2006 by Jan Fennel, an English dog lover and trainer. She adapted the method first developed by Monty Roberts for horses to understand dogs. Her method emphasizes people adjusting their behavior so that their dog perceives them as alpha or the pack leader role. This method is called Amichien Bonding.
This year the theme is “Rescue Dogs”. Lets focus our attention on all the dogs that need a home and someone to love. Thousands of people all over the world will celebrate this day by doing fun activities with their dogs.
